Mulligan went swimming!!!!

May 16, 2012

Izzy signing in!!!!

It sure is a good thing I am a good sister.  Sunday morning I overheard Mom ask Dad about visiting a friend of theirs and only take Mulligan. Why they were going to visit a friend? I have no idea. All I heard was that Mulligan was going and I was not.  When that happens, I know it is my job to take care of the house. That is a tall order you know. Anyhow, off Mulligan goes with Mom and Dad. Actually it was quite relaxing without the boy. I know I will get my special time with Mom and Dad. Today is Mulligan’s day.

Mulligan had quite a day. Here is what he told me. “Hey Izzy, I didn’t know that when I went in the water and my feet didn’t touch bottom that I could actually keep moving. Really, I did. Mom tossed a small stick for me, I went further and further into the water. Each time I could touch the ground and get wet at the same time. Then Mom tossed the stick really far. I actually floated and could not touch the ground. At first I didn’t know what to do, then all of a sudden my legs started moving and I moved through the water. I loved it,  Izzy.  You know what was really fun? Getting out of the water and shaking all over and the water sprayed on everyone. ”

Well, now Mulligan knows how to swim. That is great, now we can go swimming together. I know Mom loves to take me swimming. I will show Mulligan how it is done. I just know I can teach him some new tricks.

Until next time,

Ted’s Ruff Harness is in use!!!!

May 10, 2012

Izzy signing in!!!!

Mom has a friend who has an aging golden retriever who is having trouble going upstairs with his family. When Mom found this out, she offered Ted’s red harness. Today Mom went to put the harness on Barney. Barney is about 12 years old I think. Now you know I am always with my Mom both physically as well as emotionally. Well, Barney stood very still for Mom to put the harness on and was very patient. Once the harness was on, Barney just walked around like he had warn it for years. I know Mom  had tears in her eyes just seeing the harness on Barney.

Barney’s Mom and Dad were so surprised that Barney was very comfortable in the harness. In fact, while Mom did some work on their computer, Barney laid down and took a nap. When it was time for Mom to leave, Barney got up and gave Mom some kisses. I know Mom had tears, and she whispered to him, “Wear this proudly.”

Barney has full use of the harness for as long as he needs it. I will see Barney on my next walk. I hope he is wearing the harness.

Until next time,

Mulligan is a very funny boy!!!!

May 10, 2012

Izzy signing in,

Well, where do I start. Our boy is almost 10 months old now. I am hearing that he will be trained to a remote collar, whatever that means. Maybe he is going to become a robot or something. Or maybe Mom will have him dance periodically.

As  most of you know, my family and I went on a vacation for a week in my new home on wheels. Let me tell you, I love it. We have so much more room to relax and spread out, it is amazing. Mulligan is getting the hang of it, but he still is overwhelmed when we first get set up, he has to talk all the time, not bark, but tell stories. I am sure the stories are quite interesting, but really now.

Last night though he was so goofy, good thing Mom loves him. He is so tall, he is counter surfing, not for food, but things. He brought Mom the following, a slipper (that was from the bedroom floor), a wallet, a pencil, and a magazine. When he was in the house alone with Mom, he had the zoomies. He brought in a rock from outside and ran around the downstairs like a mad man. I could hear him and I was outside.

Mom has been very busy after work and has not had time to take us for a walk. I bet she will tonight. Mulligan really needs a good run, even I can see it.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

Finally warm weather!!!!

Izzy signing in!!!!

Oh boy, is it ever nice out. This past week has been great. Mom comes home from work takes us for a walk, our older brother Hank even gets to go 🙂 Hank and Mulligan run free in the field, but Mom thinks I will see something interesting and just run forever. Hmmm She is probably right. So, Mom puts me on a very long leash and I sure do wander and take in all the smells.

Mulligan is doing pretty good. Below is his first outing on the front porch. I am sure from now on, Mom will relax out there and I will come to visit. It is really nice on the porch, I just like being in my own area in the back yard. Oh yes, Mulligan is now 8 months old. He has spent half of his life with us. I am happy to have him with us.

Dad was so nice to me today, he put my drinking fountain outside for me. I just love having my own spiket of water to drink from. It is so fresh and cool. I am sure Mulligan will learn to use it too, that is ok. Like to share with him.

Mom and Dad have been busy getting my movable home ready. I think we are leaving for a week. It will be sooo much fun I can hardly wait, new smells, new sights.

That is it for now.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

Wonderful walks lately!!!!

February 7, 2012

Izzy signing in,

Mulligan, Mom and I are having really nice walks lately. As usual, Mulligan is off leash running and running. He such a good boy for us. Mom and I are walking really fast, he is off exploring the field. I am sure he is finding all sorts of goodies to nibble on and roll in. Once we are out of the field, both of us are put back on leashes and we walk around town. We visit many people and are given many compliments. Mom is very happy with both of us, of course she is happy with me, I am her favorite.

Until next time,

2011 has brought many changes!!!!

December 25, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!!

2011 has been a very different year for my family. It all started with my Dad having colon cancer, then Ted becoming a tripawd, in the spring Dad lost his Mom then his cousin then his uncle then his sister-in-law. In June we lost our beloved Ted E. Bear. Dad went through chemo treatments for 6 months. Mom’s Mom got remarried in October (we lost Mom’s Dad to cancer in 2006).  November Mulligan joined our family. Whew what a year.

Just about a week ago, Dad was in the hospital for a reversal of his colostomy. He is now home and recovering nicely. For Mom, this is the first Christmas in her entire life not to be with Mom’s Mom. All is good though, Mom’s Mom is having her first Christmas with her new husband, and Mom is having her Christmas with Tom and all of us furbies.

All is right with the world in our family.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

Thank you again Ted!!!!

I was remembering when we were puppies, Ted. I remember getting a little dirty, but Mulligan has topped anything we ever did. Oh my goodness. I have more mud balls on me than I ever thought existed. Mulligan and I are digging a hole and are trying to give our pawrents a portal to Australia. I think we just might make it.

Thank you for bringing Mulligan to us.

Until next time,

My little brother lost his manhood yesterday!!!!

December 10, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!!

Yesterday was a big day for my little bro.  His day started with no breakfast, then a walk with Mom but without me. I guess that was the easiest way to keep his  mind off the food and the rest of us could eat. Mom and Mulligan were a bit wet when they returned as it was rain/snowing out on their walk. I was not happy that I was not included in the walk, but I think I understand now.

Next thing I know, Mulligan is going out the front door again with Mom. Geesh, he got to do everything yesterday. I waited patiently all day for Mom, Dad and Mulligan to return. He sure was a funny boy when he got home. He was soooo dopey, he had bags under his eyes. After dinner, he relaxed and took many naps.

Today is a new day for him. He is no longer Mr. Dopey. The bags under his eyes are gone and he wants to play. Mom and Dad are watching very closely so he does not over do. I am being gentle with him too. He will be back to himself in no time, I just know it. I am really enjoying playing with him.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

Things are great here!!!!

December 7, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!!

Life in my house is just great. The energy Mulligan has brought is wonderful. We all have our moments of course, just like any other family, but over all it is great. Mulligan is such a good boy for Mom and Dad. Oh Oh, let me tell you what the two of us did last evening.

As most of you know, we have a “dinner dance” each evening. I am the lucky one who dines outside. Mulligan is not allowed to see me until I have finished my dinner. In the mean time, he is inside eating his dinner with Missy and Hank picking up the food he drops while he wanders around the kitchen. Anyhow, when I am done, Mulligan comes to finish up what I have left him. He is not the neatest eater at all. So, he drops bits of food. Some of those bits of food land between the wooden platform and the stairs. Now the fun begins.

The space where the bits of food are also has leaves, mud, worms, and anything else that can fall in the space. Well, Mulligan and my nose get to work. We smell the tender morsels and begin to dig. Woof Woof Woof, we have a blast pulling up the leaves, worms and bits of food. Mom and Dad look out at us and just smile. I think they are glad we are working together. Well, when the deed is done, both of us have very muddy feet. Mom really does not care, she laughs and wipes our feet off.

Ted, thank you for guiding Mom to get Mulligan. Could you also help guide him not to take the socks and underwear off the bed and bring them down stairs? Mom and Dad would really like to put those on. Thanks.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

Mulligan has a cold!!!!

December 1, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!!

My little brother has a little cough when he gets excited. He is eating and drinking just fine. His nose is a tad runny, so Mom called the vet today, Dad picked up some antibiotics. Mom is soooo good to all of us. I am so happy Mulligan is with us or he may not have been taken care of on the farm. People would not have noticed his cough.

Until next time,
