Mom has been true to her word and has taken me swimming a lot lately. I really like swimming, but I don’t stay in too long. What I like about it the most is I feel so cool when I get out. Most times Mom comes into the water with me. She walks right beside me as I swim around her. I think she just wants to be with me where ever I am. She loves me so much.
Today Mom and I went to the library for a visit. Ms. Sharon had a walker and I didn’t even notice. She moved it all around and I didn’t care. I just wanted to see her. Mom was so proud of me. One more little test for me on my journey to becoming a certified therapy dog. After the library I went swimming, then we visited with someone from North Carolina.
After dinner, Mom, Dad and I went for a ride to a friend’s house. Mom and I went down to the lake to go swimming. The waves were much larger than any I have experienced before. Mom was right beside me as the waves splashed on the shore. We went in the water a little ways, but the waves were a little big for me today. Mom did not push me past my comfort level, so I was not scared at all. I know we will go back out again for a swim when the waves are not quite so big.
I had such a nice day with Mom. I just love her so.
Until next time,

Izzy reporting in. Well, I guess I didn’t hide the gentle leader well enough, Mom found it. I have had to use it on our walks. This is what I have figured out though. If I walk really well for Mom, she will take it off and put me on my flexi-leash. I can walk all over the place with that thing. Mom has to watch real close because if I see a squirrel or rabbit, boy I sure can pull her hard. Woof Woof Woof. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t ever want to hurt my Mom, but those little critters can get the better of me.
I do like my morning walks even if I have to wear the gentle leader for a bit.
Until next time,

Mom, Mom’s Mom and I traveled the 100 miles for my mini-therapy test last evening. I of course was wonderful. What can I say???? Mom followed the instructions she was give, put me in a stay, then the lady wanted Mom to call me to come to her. Well, Mom said, “No, as a stay is when my girl stay put. If you want her to come to me, I need to put her in a wait.” Well, that just was perfect. Mom did put me in a wait, I did as asked, and came when Mom called me.
We then had to pass a dog and not even pay attention to the dog. The dog was a certified therapy dog, we passed, I ignored, but the other dog wanted to say “Hi!” Ha, I did better than he did.
Apparently I need to walk on a looser leash for Mom, so the gentle leader will and can be used. This morning, Mom put the gentle leader on me and I was great. Mom told me that I needed to wear the gentle leader for the test and we would be practicing with it.
I am scheduled to take the test in November. I will keep all of you updated on my progress. I am so excited, I just know I will be going to many interesting places.
Until next time,

Well, Mom is seriously thinking about getting me back into the therapy training routine. I heard her talking with Dad and we are going on an adventure to see a lady who will give me a mini test. This will let Mom know what we need to work on. Then we can take the next test and I will be a certified therapy dog. Mom always talks about how Ted and I were in training for it, and we both did well in the spring of ’10. Then time got away from us, then well you know, things happened.
So, from what I hear, we will be going to a Petsmart to see this lady. I think I have seen commercials where that store sells really good stuff. I have never been in a store before, I have been in a library, post office, school, and vet office, but never a store. This will be exciting. I can’t wait.
Until next time,

Izzy reporting in, after dinner Mom and Dad took Missy, Hank and I for nice walk. I walked Dad, Hank and Missy walked Mom. The thing about my brother and sister joining us on the walk is they wander much more than I do. Every so often our leashes cross and we get in a mess. Mom and Dad straighten us out and away we go again.
My limping has subsided. Dad was noticing how well I am doing and is very proud of me. I know I will still get my x-rays in a few weeks, but I will still continue to heal. Mom and I will continue to walk and hopefully swim.
Until next time,

This evening, Mom and I went to the local community library for a visit. You see Mom’s Mom volunteers there during the summer months. Oh it was so good to go there, I have not been there since the leaves were falling on the ground and Ted had 4 legs.
While we were at the library I heard Mom’s Mom ask Mom how school was. Soooo, must be Mom is going to her work place to get ready for the school year. Boy, she sure does work hard for those kids. I hope they appreciate all the hard work she and all the other teachers do.
After the library, we stopped at the ice cream shop to visit with some friends. Of course I was the center of attention and one man even had a cookie for me. Yummy, I sure enjoyed that. Mom was asked about Ted. She was very brave and told his story without any tears. I am so proud of her. Each time she tells the story, I get more attention from the people. They all say that I will be a very spoiled young lady. What can I say other than, “Woof, Woof, Woof, Woof!!!!”
So, now the mystery is solved!!!! I know she would take me if she could. She even said so. I will continue to do my job and keep the house in order and wait for her to come home.
Until next time,

Since the weekend, Mom has been leaving the house for like ever. She looks at me like, “I am sorry Izzy, I wish I didn’t have to go.” But where ever does she go? I just want to know. Each day she comes home and gives me a great big hug and kiss. I do forgive her for leaving me. I know it is my job to keep the house quiet and in order. It is a real good thing she keeps Hank and Missy in their little houses. I just know they would make a mess of the house, toys all over and everything.
I still want to know where she goes and why I can’t go with her!!!!
Until next time,

6:15 this morning, Mom had all of us up and out the door for our morning walk. It was already 80 degrees. We returned to our movable home and Dad was up too. Mom and Dad had a cup of black stuff, Missy, Hank and I had our clear stuff and some food. The news broadcast said that the temperature was going to reach 100 degrees, so we decided it was best to end this adventure and get ready for my appointment.
Off in Mom’s vehicle I go with Mom and Dad. We finally arrive and sure enough it is 100 degrees. Way too hot for my family. We went into the office to keep cool and greet all that wanted to be greeted. Finally we saw Dr. Robinson. He is really nice and gentle. He had me on my side moving my legs in all different directions, rolled me over and did the same thing. He was amazed at how relaxed I was. He said I had full range of motion and a very relaxed young lady. Dr. Robinson did not find anything wrong, he said I may be limping because I have an injury. You see, Ted was sometimes a bully to me in the yard. Even on 3 legs he would run into me with all his might. I could have injured some soft tissue and it just needed to heal. I am to continue my walks with Mom and even some light jogging. Mom asked about swimming and swimming would be great. He would like another set of x-rays in 3-4 weeks to compare the ones taken in May.
So, I am good as gold. I could have told them that, but somehow I just was not able to do that. When I saw the relief on my pawrent faces I was sooo very happy.

I heard Mom and Dad talking this morning about the weather. We had a storm pass through early this morning, Mom was up, but Dad was sleeping. I did very well, if I don’t say so myself, I was nervous at first and climbed on Mom a bit. She had to shut windows so I decided to find my favorite pillow and relax the best I could. Mom came back, and I looked at her, she smiled and was close by. I eventually fell asleep. Thank you Ted for watching over me.
Anyhow, Dad suggested we stay home tonight as another storm will be coming this afternoon. Sooo, we will leave tomorrow sometime. I am sure they know what to do and what is best for all of us. I just love them.
Until next time,

Good afternoon all, Izzy here!!!! Last night we had a thunder and lightening storm. Oh my, I heard it coming and woke Mom up. I gave her kisses and told her I could hear it coming. She hugged me and said, “It’s OK, we will get through it together.” Up she got and downstairs we went. Hank and Missy went outside together, then Mom and I went outside together. It was not raining, but the sky was flashing.
All of us went back inside and Mom got the bag she sleeps in and her pillow and laid on the floor for me again. I snuggled up next to her and rested. Mom fell asleep with her arm over me. I didn’t seem to be as scared as I thought I would be with out Ted. But you know, Ted was such a whimp when it came to storms. He would hide in the shower or tub or even behind Mom. He would whine a bit, then bury his head in the pillows, like that would really help.
Maybe I am not as scared of the storms as I thought I was. I guess I will find out when the next storm arrives. You know, fireworks and firecrackers scare me too. I heard Mom talking and I get to go to Grandmas with Mom and Dad when our village has fireworks next weekend. I will be able to see them but hopefully the noise will not be that bad. I will let you all know how I make out with that.
Until next time,
