Today we walked in honor of Ted E. Bear!!!

November 29, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!!

It has been 5 months without Ted E. Bear. As many of you know, my family has had many devastating events over the past year. I won’t bore you with the details, but I will say, enough is enough!!!! Mulligan has been a blessing to us all. He has no idea of the energy he has brought into this family.

Today, even with the wind whipping, rain coming down, temperature being 42, Mom put jackets on Mulligan and me and out the door we went for a walk.  We walked all around town, remembering all the things we did with Ted. All the people we met with him, all the people who wanted to met us because of Ted. Mulligan was such a good boy on this walk, he was so focused on walking, he didn’t wander very much. I think he knew this was a special walk.

Ted, we all miss you. We know you are watching us and having a good laugh at Mulligan!!!! Thank you for teaching me how to be a good sister and teaching Mom how to be a good Mom.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out

Our walk today!!!!

November 28, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!!

Mom and Dad went to work after a long weekend. Whew am I glad, I needed my rest. This house is so active when they are home. Anyhow, I had a good nap today waiting for Mom to get home.

As soon as Mom was ready, Mulligan and I headed out with her for our walk. For some reason, Mulligan wanted to show me how much fun it was on the playground. He showed me all the things he can do. He is really good at jumping on the different platforms, he sure is a quick little guy. Then we wandered to the baseball diamond and did some serious sniffing. That sure was fun. Next it was off to the streets, first stop, our friend Shannon. I have known her all my life, she helped teach me all the things I know.  Off we go again, Mulligan, the silly boy, finds a small apple and carries it around with him for 15 minutes. Of course, he can’t keep it in his mouth the entire time, he spits it out and chases it. He was having a grand time with it. I smiled and just kept walking. Finally he loses the apple, then he finds a pine cone to carry. I don’t think he had as much fun with that, he didn’t keep it long.

Mulligan is learning a lot. Mom has switched from the flexi leash back to the short leather leash for each of us. I know I like it better and I hear Mom saying she likes it better too. Mulligan is doing very well with it too. We are both sitting nicely at the intersections for Mom. When a car comes, we get close to Mom and sit. We are always doing things in a safe manner, Mom does not want anything to happen to us.

After about an hour, we are back home. I head back outside to relax, Mulligan stayed inside with Mom. Before I know it, Dad is home and my family is together again, just the way I like it.

Until next time,

I now have the time!!!!

November 15, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!!

Mom received an email this morning. Now we are getting nervous, our evaluation is at noon on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011. We both know we are ready, we both feel confident, but we are still nervous.

We also received an pep talk email from the coordinator. That was really nice of her, but we are still nervous. Mom is taking me for fun walks, we are off leash in the ball field and I am doing everything she wants. Oh, except finding things to roll in. What is a pretty dog to do? We must be a dog sometimes.

Nervously signing out.

Until next time,

Mom is soooo good to me!!!!

September 10, 2011

Izzy here!!!!

Mom has been in search of something for me to chew on. I am do not destroy thing, but I do like to have a good chew now and then. Ted liked the basic bone, but I never really got into that. Mom does not like me to chew on raw hide as I can demolish it in just a few minutes. Mom heard about bully sticks and how wonderful they are, next thing I know I am gnawing on a bully stick. Do you really know what those are??? Well anyhow, I consumed that in a matter of minutes as well.

Many years ago, Mom had a dog named Tigger. Mom mentions Tigger once in a while. Anyhow, Tigger loved to chew on cow hooves. Mom remembered how much Tigger enjoyed those and decided to get some for me, well I just love them too. At first I crack of pieces of the hoof, and Mom picks them up, after that I just gnaw away. My teeth are nice an white now. (Mom here, I have found the best quality hooves come from a feed store in my area, Blue Seal Feeds. The hooves from the pet stores are too brittle.)

For a variety of things for me to chew on, Mom bought me a large white bone. Missy likes to chew on it too, but she can’t pick it up. It is rather funny to watch. Anyhow, I my Mom has made my day again!!!! Oh, a friend of brought over deer antlers for me. At first I didn’t know what to do with it. It looks like a stick but it is not soft. Believe it or not, Hank will run around like a mad man throwing the antler in the air and chasing it. Now is that the way for a 12 year old, 23 pound dog to act? Well, Hank is my older brother and is very active, always has been. I wish Icould jump as high and run as fast as he can.

Mom says Hank is her protector. He will alert her to anything that she needs to know about. Once he does that, I will go look at what needs to be looked at. Usually it is a squirrel up a tree, but sometimes it is a loose dog in the area, or (this is a good one) the UPS truck just driving by. Well, he has a job and he does it well.

Mom has finally found what she is comfortable with me chewing on. She is happy with my teeth and that I enjoy gnawing on the hooves and knuckle bone. I don’t think she will ever buy bully sticks again (I am so glad about that).

Until next time,

Izzy signing out

OH NO!!!! Please Mom stay home with us!!!!

September 5, 2011

Izzy signing in!!!! I overheard Mom talking to Dad the other day and found out that another school year is about to begin. What does that mean to me????? It means long days waiting for Mom!!!! I do have a job to do though. My job is to make sure the house is neat and orderly when she gets home. I have promised not to mess the bed up when I take my morning and afternoon naps. I have promised not to do the laundry or the dishes while she is gone. I have promised to greet Mom at the door (if I am not napping that is) when she arrives home from work.

During my eaves dropping session, I heard Mom tell Dad that she will need to go on weekend adventures in our movable home. Dad says that would be fine. We won’t travel very far, but it is a change that Mom needs. The good part is we all will go on the adventure as well. I will keep you posted on our adventures.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

We are home!!!!

August 29, 2011

This morning was glorious!!!! The fog was in the valley, the river had gone down some and the sun was coming up!!!! I think I even saw Mom smile about the sight we all saw. We all went for our morning walk, then back to the movable home for breakfast.

After a while our neighbors left and Mom let all of us out on our ropes to enjoy the morning. As we were enjoying the sights and sounds, Mom packed up everything. I found my spot, Hank found his spot, and Missy found hers. Mom checked all around, got in and away we went. I just love riding in the movable home. After while, I decided to visit Mom. She looked at me and said she will stop in about 5 minutes.

My Mom is so good to all of us. We arrived home safe and sound. Hank and Missy hopped out of the movable home and I just didn’t want to leave. Once I did, I ran around my yard making sure all was right with the world and you know what? It is. I also know Ted was with us all the way. Mom knew he was too. She always wears the pewter heart with 3 paws around her neck. She told me the heart came off the necklace but has no idea how it came off since the jump ring was closed. She put the heart back on the necklace and said, “Yup, Ted is with us!!!”

Waiting for the next adventure with my family.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

Tomorrow our adventure begins!!!!

August 23, 2011

Izzy here. I just know it starts tomorrow!!!! Mom did some packing today, I saw her carry that darn people food out the door. I sure hope she remembers my food. Oh what am I worried about, she never forgets about me. Oh that Missy girl, she was in the movable home watching Mom’s every move. She is such a silly little girl, but I do love her. She makes me laugh.

I heard Mom say we are leaving before lunch. Yip Yip Yippee. I will be riding right next to Mom so she can touch me all the time. I just love riding next to her.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.

A new adventure is going to happen!!!!

August 21, 2011

Izzy reporting in!!!! Mom is planning another adventure. I hear part of it includes Dad, but not the entire adventure. Hank and Missy will be with us and we will be traveling in the movable home again. Here is what I know so far!!!! In a few days we will be leaving and traveling about 3 hours from home. I am thinking of riding in the c0-pilot seat, but if Hank or Missy get there first, that is ok too. I heard Mom talking to my friend Dakota’s Mom and they will be there too.

Dad will be traveling to us the next day, he has something he has to do before joining us. We will be staying in the same place for a couple of days. After that, Dad will return home and the rest of us are going to travel about 4 hours to a new place. Mom was talking about a horse show or something like that. I am not sure if Dakota and I will be going to the show, but that will be ok. Hank, Missy, and I will stay in our movable home. If I remember corrrectly, we will be going to a special pond to swim. I can’t wait.

I will be sure to post pictures of our adventures when I can.

Until next time,

Izzy signing out.
